What even is a spleen? How your immune system and vaccines work. in Splash Fall 2024
Imagine a constant, microscopic battle waged between your cells and a host of microbial invaders—this is the daily reality your immune system faces! In this class, we will learn about the roles of leukocytes, key organs, and the innate and adaptive immune responses. You will learn about antibodies: what they are, how your body produces them, and their role in the immune response. We will also cover vaccine mechanisms and common autoimmune diseases, as well as practical applications for these concepts in medicine.
